"mommy?" I heard a quiet voice behind me
I rolled over and saw Thomas standing in the doorway, his teddy bear platypus in his arms.
"yea?" I asked tiredly
I heard a small sniffle and was immediately out of bed and had his in my arms. I felt his tears hitting my shoulders as I scooped him up and held him close as I went back to the bed and fixed up the pillows so I could lean against them. I pulled the blankets up around us and he snuggled closer.
"Baby whats wrong?" I asked softly
"I miss daddy" he sobbed softly "I had a bad dream that he was hurt and he died" he released a sob
"Tommy, baby, Daddy's fine" I whispered and he shook his head "would it make you feel better if we went and saw him?" I felt him nod
I grabbed my cellphone off the bedside table and dialed Natasja's number.
"hello?" she answered
"Hey Tasja can you do me a favor?"
"sure whats up?"
"Tommy had a bad dream about Phineas so I'm going to take him to see him, I was wondering if you could come watch the girls"
"sure be over in a sec" the line went dead
I grabbed my housecoat and tugged it on, wrapping him in it as I shoved on my winter boots and waited by the door. Within a minute she was walking in the door. I grinned my thanks and rushed out the door.
"momma can we take bumblebee?" I hesitated when the image of my beautiful sports car popped into my head
"baby Bumblebee is mommy's favorite and I don't want anything happening to him. How about we take Ironhide?"
He grinned and nodded. I climbed into the truck and buckled him into his car seat.
When we arrived I quickly unbuckled him, wrapped him inside my robe with me, and rn inside.
When we were inside I allowed him to poke his head out. I walked past the receptionist and we both waved as I walked into the elevator.
I pressed the button for the fourth floor and Thomas snuggled closer to me.
"I promise Tommy, daddy is okay"
He didn't reply and the elevator dinged. The door opened and I walked out, going straight to the door I knew concealed my husbands office.
I pushed it open and he turned, a grin crossing his face when he spotted us.
"Hey, what are you doing here so late?"
"Tommy had a bad dream that you were hurt and died" I replied
Thomas reached out for his father, whom immediately stood and rushed over, scooping the boy into his arms and holding him close.
"Thomas" he whiaspered "I promise you, I will never, ever, leave you alone" he paused "okay?"
Thomas nodded and Phineas kissed his forehead softly.
I reached for him and Phineas shook his head
"I was about to leave anyways he tugged on his coat, still holding onto his son, before locking his office.
"you walked today, right?" he nodded "Okay. I drove Ironhide"
"why not Bumblebee?" he grinned
"I didn't want my beautiful baby boy getting ruined" I whispered fondly. Phineas chuckled and I noticed Thomas had dozed off. "Poor baby" I whispered "He's probably exhausted"
Phineas nodded in agreement and began strapping the toddler into his car seat. When he finished, he climbed into the passenger side.
When we arrived home Tasja was asleep on the pull out couch with Ferb, Emily, and Matthew.
I giggled softly and walked with Phineas to put Thomas to bed. When Phineas tried to set him down, the boy refused and held on.
Phineas held him closer and instead brought him to our room. I took Thomas from him, and laid down in the bed. Phineas climbed in behind me, wrapping an arm around my waist.
"goodnight" he said with a yawn
"night" I whispered
"I love you"
"I love you too"
It didn't go unnoticed by me when Perry walked up the bed and curled up next to Tommy, and Thomas wrapped an arm around him.
