Storm

Rain drove down in buckets, landing on every surface they could find before slipping off onto the cold hard ground, rejoining their comrades in puddles and streams. The wind was howling, pulling the trees and grass to the side, ripping leaves off occasionally and sending them spiralling away.

Thunder crashed in the sky, lightning lighting it up seconds afterwards. Waves slammed angrily against cliffs and shores, dragging sticks, rocks and mud back with to sea with them.

This storm found two friends sitting on the beach, silently watching the storm in the comfort of each others presence. The girl, Lilo, yawned tiredly. Her brown eyes were half closed, a peaceful smile on her face.

The boy, or rather alien, Stitch, was sitting in the girl's lap, leaning back against her chest, head snuggled securely under her chin. He purred softly and she reached forward, gently grasping his furry blue paw and twining their fingers together.

"Lilo want to go home?" he spoke softly, tilting his head up slightly

She smiled, her gaze flicking down to meet his. She gently pressed a kiss to the top of his head

"I'm happy where I am"

"But Nani will be angry"

Lilo paused, a soft sigh leaving her lips. She nodded, pushing herself up, Stitch in her arms. He climbed out of her grasp and perched on her shoulder. Both took one last glance at the scene, before turning and making their way into the woods.

"Any guess on what time it is?" she asked after a few minutes of walking, breaking the silence that had fallen between them

The alien paused for a moment, thinking to himself. After a few moments he spoke

"My guess is around ten"

Lilo groaned

"Nani is going to kill me"

Stitch leaned over to face her, smiling widely

"Us" he corrected

She smiled, reaching up and ruffling the fur on his head

"Alright then, us" she acquiesced "Why so eager to group yourself into my punishment?"

"Stitch loves Lilo" he replied, nuzzling his nose against her cheek "So Stitch want's to be with Lilo no matter what"

Lilo couldn't help the small giggle that escaped her lips

"How sweet"

They arrived at the house only moments later and crept up the front stairs. She stuck her key in the door and pushed it open, relocking it behind them. She toed off her shoes, freezing when the light flicked on. She turned around, facing her older sister

"Where were you?"

"At the beach"

"Why?"

"We wanted to watch the storm"

"Do you have any idea how dangerous that is!?"

"We were way back from the wat-"

"And further more, do you have any idea how worried I was?!"

"I'm sorry okay!" the raven finally cried out "We won't do it again"

She looked away, her cheek hitting Stitch's chest. He leaned over her head, gently stroking his claws through her hair and purring to calm her. Nani sighed, stepping closer and pulling her sister into a hug.

"I'm sorry for yelling" she sighed "I just worry about you"

"I have Stitch" the younger girl muttered, her arms wrapping around her sister in return

"I know" Nani sighed "But it's hard to adjust"

"You've had since I was seven"

Nani couldn't help but laugh at the others tone

"It's only been 8 years" Lilo pulled away and cocked an eyebrow and Nani shrugged innocently "It's hard Lilo. It's going to take more than a few years" she stepped away "Now go to bed"

Lilo hurried away, Stitch slipping off her shoulder to run beside her. They climbed onto the elevator, and just before it whisked them upstairs Lilo yelled

"A few isn't eight!"

Nani chuckled softly, returning to her bedroom

"No" she murmured to herself "I suppose it isn't"

Lilo yawned again as she climbed into bed, Stitch climbing in beside her. She wrapped an arm around him and he snuggled closer

"Night Lilo" he mumbled

"Night Stitch. Love you" she whispered

"Love you too, bujibu"
